Tardies and Absences

Please have your child arrive at school on time!  The bell rings at 8:15 and we start work promptly.  Students who are late should go straight to the office for a tardy note before coming to class.  Students who arrive late miss important academic information.  Playground supervision begins at 8:00.

Homework

Homework consists of reading nightly.  Students must read 60 minutes (or more) each week and record it on the reading log. Reading logs go home on Monday and are due on Friday.  Students will receive  positive points if they have their homework as they walk in the door. Students who do not have their homework as they walk in will receive negative points and will go to study hall on Friday afternoon.  I encourage parents NOT to bring their child's homework in if it's forgotten.  I want the students to develop the responsibility of completing the work, getting it signed and bringing it back.

Homework that is forgotten should be brought in (by the child) the next school day for credit in our Readers Are Winners program.
